The Auto-Klean model EG and Super Auto-Klean model
EGS are all metal cleanable edge filters that can be cleaned without interrupting flow. Designed for long
service life, the filter sump is gasket sealed and attached to the filter head by a clamping ring and four bolts to allow
removal without disturbing inlet/outlet pipe connections. Mounting holes are drilled and tapped to permit
installation on a vertical surface. A vent screw and sludge drain are provided for safe and easy system operation.

Auto-Klean Story
Auto-Klean all metal edge filters are composed of a stack of
alternating metal discs and spacers of uniform thickness on a rotatable
central shaft. The cleaning blades are mounted on a stationary rod
and project into the area between the discs. When the handle is turned, the particles lodged on or between the discs are “combed”
from the surface, restoring full flow conditions, without any service
interruption. The “combed” debris falls to the bottom of the sump for
removal at a later time.
The Super Auto-Klean filter refines the design of Auto-Klean for a higher degree of filtration while maintaining all the ease of use of the
original design. By using discs of a smaller diameter as spacers, a second filtration area is formed. The first filtration area, like the Auto-Klean,
is between the larger or major discs, while the second area is between the inside diameter of the major disc and the outside
diameter of the smaller or “minor” disc. The radial gap created by the
major and minor discs determines the degree of filtration.

FLOW CAPACITY
Flow rates (Table 2), at various viscosities, for the EG and EGS filters are based on clean fluid with pressure
drop of 3 PSI. Flow rates for other viscosity fluids are approximately proportional. Select a
filter model ac-cording
to the nature and concentration of the contaminant to be removed.
