ACTIVATED CARBON CARTRIDGES

ACTIVATED CARBON cartridges remove chlorine, color and odors caused by dissolved organics, and turbidity from aqueous and organic liquids. All materials are constructed of FDA listed materials for food contact and may be used for drinking water and potable liquids. The easy-to-change disposable cartridge contains about 33 cubic inches of premium grade granular activated carbon. The activated carbon adsorbs dissolved organics, and removes chlorine. An integral 5µ prefilter removes various particulates to eliminate premature clogging of the carbon bed, while a 5µ post-filter removes carbon fines that may shed from the bed.

CONSTRUCTION
The activated carbon bed, the pre-filter, and post-filter are contained in a heat-sealed polyethylene
case (see diagram). This unitized cartridge construction eliminates the mess associated with handling carbon. The 5µ post-filter prevents the activated carbon from escaping. Cuno Activated Carbon cartridges can be used in either single cartridge filter housings or stacked in multiple cartridge housings. The end gaskets provide the necessary seal in either arrangement.
